Okay Alegria WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE? The food here is legit and AMAZING and highly addictive!
Came here last week and ordered the 3 taco special which comes with 3 tacos of your choice, rice and refried beans with cheese on top. I got Carnitas (fried pork) and it was delicious and I couldn't wait to come back (was literally dreaming about it) Now that I've finally came back, this time around I tried the Lengua for the first time & the Al Pastor tacos. The Al pastor tacos was good per usual but listen honey, the Lengua (beef tongue) was So FRIGGIN Good, I really wished I had gotten all 3 Lengua. I also got a small menudo and it was also delicious, it reminded me of my grandma's soup. The business is family owned and the people are so sweet, they always welcome you with a smile. They have all the flavors of Jarritos your heart desires plus other Mexican sodas. The only downside is parking, it's adjacent to an apartment building and small so parking can be tough but would definitely keep coming back. I live in Sunrise and it's worth the drive trust me.
P.s -- get the salsa verde -

O M G! This place may be lacking in the space department but it more than makes up for it in the flavor department! It only seats maybe 10 people, cramped and it can get rather toasty inside so I would recommend you call, order your tacos, pick them up, enjoy them, and finally, come back for more!
Located on the corner, the place has three or four parking spots on the side. You blink, and you miss them.
You order the food and then you get to pick your own drink: regular soda cans or Mexican Coca Cola or you can even do the Mexican Jarritos: flavored soda.
You can order burritos, tortas, individual tacos or as a meal (with beans and rice). I had the carnitas (pork that has been seasoned with special seasonings) and an asada (steak). They came with pico de Gallo, cilantro, onions and it had two wedges of lemon: one for each taco if you want to squirt lemon juice over them.
Each taco comes in two fried corn tortillas. Not quite sure how to explain it but it works.
The tacos were delicious! I cannot rave enough about them!
As I was leaving, the cook was preparing a steak torta that looked delicious! Maybe a bit too big for me but hey, that can be lunch and dinner.
Definitely will be back for more! -

My wife and moved to South Florida from the Bay Area in California about a year and a half ago. One thing we missed the most about being California natives is good Mexican food. This place has it! We kept saying how it reminded us of one of our favorite taquerias back in California.
I tried going once at lunch time and the line was out the door. It's a smaller place but still, it was packed! Unfortunately I didn't have time to wait that long. I was told you should call in your order ahead of time because the walk-in wait is so long around lunch. My wife and I did that today. I had the carnitas tacos and my wife had the al pastor. They were both amazing.
This place is definitely on our list of great lunch spots. -

My niece was in town from Orlando and we went to Fort Lauderdale with the intent of going to beach but than the craving for street tacos came on and of course I went to my yelp search bar. Lol
Two places with great reviews came in, which was this place and Quates Mexican Restaurant which are literally across from each other on opposing corners. We knew that we were going to be in that area again the following day and decided to try both places and back to back fresh reviews.
We went to Alegria tacos first on Friday. First off the parking lot is almost non existent and DO NOT park in the shopping plaza next to the restaurant. You will be towed apparently. The parking for this restaurant is on the side by the street and it is limited. It looks like this building used to be an apartment complex at one time which explains the limited parking spaces.
The restaurant is very very small inside. One booth and three two seater tables with a soda vending machine inside the dining area. The server was very nice and accommodating and explained everything and made sure the orders were correct. I could tell she was from out west because I am originally from Utah and we do have accents. Apparently the family is retired military from California and Mexican! Which made me very happy because Mexican food from the West is very different than from here.
We ordered steak and chicken tacos and a tamale and a bean burrito along with bottled Mexican Coca Colas!
The corn tortillas were grilled perfectly and the chicken and steak were diced and shredded nice so that when you take a bite you don't have a gigantic piece of meat in your mouth. The lime was fresh as well as the pico. The retried bean were very good as well and fresh. The rice was good but ok. Needed more taste. The salsa's were a green and red ( home made) they were tasty but I have had better. The Coca Cola bottle was large and cold! Loved it. The tamale was just ok for me. Not a lot of meat inside and really no flavor but tamales always come out different. The tacos are what makes this place without a doubt. My son loved his burrito, pretty large portion. I will definitely come again. -
